Speaker notes  ____Kate Betsko______ from _____League of Women Voters__
Kate told a little about the League, that it began when women were first able to vote, to be sure they were educated about how to vote and make decisions about the issues on the ballot.
Mostly, Kate gave a list of the amendments on the ballot with the mid-term elections. You can check their website for the list of amendments and the League’s position on them:  https://www.lwvfl.org/amendments/

Event notes
Bowling is this Saturday. We need coaches.
The yard sale is Saturday October 27, with set up at 7am. Items donated should be in good condition. Some folks should plan to help with tear down and distribution of remainders.
Jim updated us about the Dragon Boat Festival. Another vendor will sell water. Jim suggested we buy jugs of iced tea and lemonade to sell. He has asked that our booth be away from the main action, so we are not competing with other food vendors.

Project notes
Jim reported that the ad in the newspaper has worked. We now have 12 bikes which he is making usable with tires, tubes, etc. He has purchased helmets as well.

Other notes
Mary is recovering. Barbara is at a bowling event.
Happy $17; Eliminate $20; Trivia $9
Next week is Halloween party; the next week we will go to Sunflower Springs to visit Gerry
